FileCatalyst Direct is a suite of client and server applications that enable point to point accelerated file transfers. TransferAgent is a desktop application that must be installed in the client machine from which you need to transfer file. This application is able to exchange information through the browser using TCP/IP. Desktop agent eliminates the need for running FileCatalyst Java applet in your browser.
